Last Thursday was CRISIS night at the Cocuna which means that we played some dirty style electro by the incredible Passive Resistance and following that with the magic quartet from Bern, Circumflux.

CounterSound Thursdays : Betty & Ford birthday

For our second installment of CounterSound Thursdays at Cocuna, the Luzern crew rocked up in full force last night to celebrate Betty & Ford's birthday party. Too bad Betty & Ford didn't actually get to mix together due to lasting mental consequences from Betty's black-out from Tuesday night (guess those AA meet-ups aren't really doing the trick).

The Passive Resistance @ 6 Jahre Grundton

The fabulous peeps over at Grundton have given us another amazing opportunity to rock Zurich proper style, namely at their 6 year anniversary, 2 day party at Hive on the 5th/6th December. Headlining the night will be none other than the masters of the art; TokTok, so we basically can't wait for this party to kick off.

Residency at Cocuna - every Thursday night

Now there's an even better reason to rock up to Langstr. on a Thursday night - which is the brand spanking new CounterSound residency at Cocuna bar. This new venue is right across the street from Long Street bar and starting on the 27th November CounterSound will be rocking your world every week with Zurich's finest DJs and special guests from out-of-town. For any of you who are stuck at home and can't make it down, our good friends at SoundCity will be streaming every event live on www.soundcity.ch

The Cocuna is a small but sweet venue and is the perfect place to create a great atmosphere where we can all relax and enjoy good drinks to great sound, so we're very excited about this project and really hoping to see all of you down there for some good times.

TPR will be performing around three in the morning so get your drink and whatever else on and make your way down to the Superzero for some late night DIRT!

Friday 17th October 2008 - Thirty DJs including Erick Morillo, Marco Carola, Monti, The Passive Resistance, DJ Knox, Disco!, Edward Allen, Diego Celi, Jason Short and many others rocked the Teleferico in Qutio, Ecuador and together created an unforgettable event.

The day started with fear of a wash-out as the rain poured down, but miraculously around 8pm the clouds cleared and we were treated to a perfect sky for the rest of the night.

One of the highlights of the night was definitely DJ Monti, who played an excellent deep minimal set and who's adoring fans jumped to his every beat. Monti is a true entertainer and one of the coolest people you could ever hope to meet.

Marco Carola played like the genius that he is to a packed dancefloor while Diego Celi showed that the local Ecuadorian talent is truly world-class with a wicked jump-up minimal techno mix. Disco!, two great young guys from LA, played a dirty minimal set despite that it was still too early in the night for the full potential of their tunes to unfold.

DJ Knox scored major points with the audience with his deep-house, deep-tech style and by being the only DJ to still play with real vinyl, by the end spinning to a completely packed floor despite his early starting time. Deep house is making a serious comeback and DJ Knox has proven his great foresight by never turning his back on it.

And at 04:30 in the morning, after the Morillo show and later Zeta Bosio, The Passive Resistance came and tore it up to deliver the festivals absolute highlight. As the only electro act of the night, The Passive Resistance was truly different so it was no surprise that by the end of the second track the floor was full once more and the crowd totally losing their minds raving. We'll be posting more video's from the event as we capture them so stay tuned.

On the downside, the SAMC Panama, which was supposed to take place on Saturday was cancelled due to the cancellation by Copa Airlines of their flight between Quito to Panama City which meant that most of the DJs were standed in Quito. There was no time left for the organizers to switch to plan B and charter a flight so the whole event got blown off :(

Blues es todo - Quito, Ecuador

Last night at Blues club was awesome, from the vibe of the party people to the astonishing new sound and light system they just installed.

It was so much fun mixing on easily the best sound system i've ever played on that the time just flew by... all the way til the cops came to shut us down at 5am :)

Rocket to the Moon

So Rakete rocked it hard-style in the Hive on Saturday. Loved the whole theme thing with huge model rockets everywhere and visuals from space looking down on Earth - it really gave us all the feeling that we were on a party rocket headed for the moon.

Animal Trainer killed it in the downstairs main room while Manon&Girl absolutely hammered their bangin tunes down our parched throats upstairs. Not even the blistering heat could deter the assembled ravers from going off like a ... you guessed it, ROCKET !!

A quick step outside for some relaxation, cool-down and in we went again to see Betty and Ford starting the 5am session, landing the crowd elegantly into the Sunday.

Definately one of the best Zurich parties of the year and Manon&Girls set now ranks in my all time top 10 favs- they just had so much fun playing and rinsed such bangin dark-bassline minimal that i was totally blown away. Is there such a thing as male groupies ? ;-)

Last night was a truly special evening - TPR's first time at Grundton and Hive. Thanks to everyone who came to party with us last night, it was great to see all of you and thank you so much for your support.
